Asia BDO, PBT Q2 demand to stay subdued on coronavirus jitters

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Asia's demand for 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and downstream polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is not expected to recover in the near-term despite April and May being the traditional peak demand season every year. Buying appetite for BDO has been curbed due to poor downstream off take because of reduced plant production in main downstream sectors including PBT and polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG).
