US drillers redeploy 11 oil rigs in first doubledigit gain since January

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US drillers redeployed 11 oil rigs this week,according to Baker Hughes,in a sign that drilling activity may be returning to the oil patch.Shale producers put 10 of those rigs back to work in the Permian,the US'most prolific oil-producing region and where 69% of 183 US oil rigs are currently operating.A double-digit gain in the rig count last occurred in mid-January,when oil prices were in the high $50s/bbl.
