Chinese cfr sulphur prices have continued to climb this week following active trading. Numerous granular cargoes have been concluded in the range of $208-215/t cfr with buyers in the Yangtze River and south both stepping in. Various origins including Middle East and North American sulphur have again been traded. Trades above and below this price range were reported, but could not be verifi ed by press time. In the main, offers ranged upwards of $215/t cfr this week. Argus has assessed the sulphur range at $150-210/t cfr China this week. The spot price escalation of recent weeks has clearly slowed. Domestic prices have declined around Yn50/t weekon-week, and some participants cite weaker sentiment on the cfr market as well.
