Trinidad and Tobago's ammonia exports fell to 1.76mn t in January-May, down by 15pc from a year earlier, according to energy ministry data. Production of 1.89mn t was down by 5.5pc from the 2016 period. The declines were caused by a persistent shortage of natural gas, a ministry official said. Gas production has been falling since 2012, when it averaged 4.1 Bcf/d. Output in January-May was 3.2 Bcf/d, 7.6pc less than a year earlier.
