Brazilian maize, soy on record pace: USDA

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) raised projections for Brazilian maize and soybean production above market expectations. The USDA's March World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report pegged 2016-17 global maize pro- duction at 1.05bn t, up by 9mn t from February's forecast. The rise reflected record-high production expectations for Brazil, at 91.5mn t, and increased production projections for Argentina, at 37.5mn t.
