Indonesia's government is aiming to increase its national electrification ratio by 1.9pc to 99.9pc by the end of 2019, after already exceeding its 2018 target of achieving just over 97pc electrification. The country had achieved electrification of just over 98pc by this year's third quarter and expects up to 98.3pc of the population could have electricity supply by the end of the year. The electrification ratio represents the percentage of households that have an electricity connection. Indonesia has one of the lowest rates among the more developed countries in southeast Asia. It lags far behind countries such as Singapore, Brunei and Thailand.
