Australia forecasts drier, warmer spring

Australia is forecast to have temperatures above median levels during August-October, which include the first two months of spring and is a period when domestic gas and electricity demand is in a shoulder period between the peak winter and summer seasons. The forecast of warmer and drier weather conditions follow the second-highest mean temperature on record for January– June this year, Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) said. A drier than average August-October period is likely for large parts of Australia, including much of east and north Australia and parts of southwest Western Australia and southern South Australia (SA), the BoM said.
