Bukit Asam completes stage of coal gasifier project

Indonesian state-owned mining company Bukit Asam is one step closer to bringing its Peranap coal gasification project to fruition, after it completed the feasibility study for the scheme. The company will now enter the initial engineering phase, which will run for 8-12 months. Bukit Asam and its partners can adjust their investments in the project during this period and finalise the overall cost of the development, which stands at $2.7bn at present.
