Thai-owned Australian coal producer Centennial Coal’s 4.5mn t/yr Springvale thermal coal mine in New South Wales (NSW) is expected to reopen in the next 24 hours after threat of a bushfire near the mine was brought under control. Electricity to the Springvale mine has been reestablished and production is anticipated to restart in the next 24 hours, said Centennial, the Australian unit of Thai energy firm Banpu.
