US Gulf coast coal exports may be delayed

Barges hauling coal headed for export though the US Gulf may be delayed by a week or more because of poor river condi?tions. Low water conditions have hampered barge operations on most waterways, particularly the lower Mississippi and Ohio rivers. Problems on the Ohio have been worsened by mainte?nance at Locks 52 and 53 near Brookport, Illinois.
