摘要

Hot-forging and austempering process, “FA process”, results in a good combination of strength and toughness by refining ofthe microstructure of TRIP-aided bainitic ferrite steel (TBF steel). According to previous research using0.4%C-1.5%Si-1.5%Mn-0.5%Cr-0-0.2%Mo-0.05%Nb steels1), an improvement of hardenability was needed to develop a0.4%C TBF steel for hot forging parts with a good combination of strength and toughness. In the present study, a0.2%C-1.5%Si-1.5%Mn-Cr-Mo-Nb TBF steel with high hardenability was developed for hot-forging parts. And, the effects ofthe FA process on the combination of strength and toughness were investigated.
