摘要

The regenerative combustion burners are a pair of burners which cycle to alternately heat the combustionair or recover and store the heat from the furnace exhaust gases. There are 4 pairs of regenerativecombustion burners in the charging zone of reheating furnaces to increase productivity and save energy. It isgenerally known to energy-saving potential up to 30% compared to conventional burner system. However,we have some trouble like the contamination of ball type alumina heat storage media, the decrease of heatstorage/heat radiation and the deterioration of nozzle, etc. This paper describes the improvements of heatstorage media and burner nozzle for regenerative combustion burner using silicon carbide (SiC).
