Severstal Export: 'Severstal returned to HRC markets of MENA and South America which were not strategic earlier'

Severstal's priority is the domestic market, and 65-70% of our production is delivered to the regular customers in Russia and CIS countries. Anyhow, remaining volume is exported and we have always adjusted our presence on the worldwide markets in line with the demand trends for various types of steel products that are in Severstal's product range. The export volumes for the last 2 years were stable, at the level of three million t/year and we expect similar volume to be sold as well in 2017. The majority of the continuous export portfolio is represented by the HR (75%) and CR (15%) finished products, while other products as heavy plates, HDG, PPGI, tubes, CR non-grain oriented steel, slabs and billets are not continuously available for export and depend on the seasonality, domestic market portfolio, scheduled maintenances etc.
