Middle Eastern buyers have shown significant resistance towards bullish sentiment of Turkish mills. As a result, exporters from Turkey could not reflect recent scrap price hikes in rebar quotes. Moreover, they were even forced to provide additional discounts. One of Turkish mills has managed to sell some 40,000-50,000 t rebar to UAE only after lowering the price to $440/t CFR TW ($430/t FOB), as Metal Expert was told. Offers were $5/t higher a week earlier.
