Germany’s crude steel production increased y-o-y for the first time in four months in June owing to more working daysand lower output in June 2014.In June, Germany’s steel mills raised production of crude steel by 5.8% year-on-year to 3.768 million t, after cuttingoutput in February, March, April and May by 1.6% (to 3.512 million t), 4.4% (to 3.872 million t), 1.9% (to 3.642 million t)and 5.4% (to 3.710 million t) respectively, according to data sent to Metal Expert by WV Stahl. “With nearly 3.8 million t,the figures in June were significantly higher than monthly average data of the past five years,” the report says.
