The welded pipe producer Saudi Steel Pipe (SSP) is about to boost its output in 2015 to meet the current demand and oust its competitors from the GCC market. Last week the company started hot tests of a new outer coating line with the capacity of 1 million sq m per year. The new equipment will allow the company to increase its OCTG shipments, particularly, of up to 30" pipes. It plans to export more than 70% of the product to nearby countries, such as Oman (Petroleum Development Oman), Kuwait (Kuwait Oil Company) and UAE (Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company, Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited).
