Russia's Severstal raises steel product sales by 12% in Q2

Thanks to seasonal demand in Russian and foreign markets, in Q2 Severstal Russian Steel raised its total sales by 12% and production – by 4%. Sales have increased primarily thanks to long products (+27%) and PPGI (+43%). Over the quarter, prices for these products rose markedly – by 15% and 18% respectively. “Price situation was beneficial for Russian Steel Division: in Q2 prices for virtually all varieties of products increased, while prices for coking coal concentrate and iron ore were falling further,” the company's release says.
