In Q2 2014, NLMK Group's operations in Russia raised finished steel sales by 7%, but Steel Segment sales remained almost unchanged at 2.9 million t (0.3% down q-o-q) due to lower slabs supplies (20%). A decline in production and sales of slabs is related to prolonged repairs and installation of PCI unit at BF shop of NLMK. Steel output went down 6% at the plant for the same reason. Most of semis is supplied to the Group's subsidiaries in the USA and Denmark, Metal Expert learns.
