Oman’s Muscat Steel to become self-sufficient in billet

Oman’s Muscat Steel will nearly fully provide its bar-rolling capacities with square billet, planning to reach semis design capacity the end of this – beginning of the next year. In order to reduce billet import, the company has installed 250,000 tpy steelmaking capacities to meet the needs of existing, 150,000 tpy rebar mill No.1 and later on to partially cover the requirement of a new mill of the same capacity.
