摘要

The isothermal section of the Fe-Pd-Nd ternary system at 773 K was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS) techniques. It is found that the isothermal section consists of 15 single-phase regions, 28 two-phase regions and 14 three-phase regions. The highest solubilities of Nd in FePd and FePd3, Pd in Fe17Nd2 and Fe17Nd5 and Fe in Pd5Nd, Pd2Nd, Pd3Nd2, Pd4Nd3 and PdNd are all less than 1 at.%. Whereas the maximum solubilities of Fe in Pd3Nd and Pd3Nd7 are approximately confirmed to be 1.0 and 4.1 at.% Fe, respectively. In the present work, a new ternary compound Nd6Fe13Pd with Pr6Fe13Ag structure, space group I4/mcm and lattice parameters a = 0.8076(2) and c = 2.2373(7) nm is observed. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V.
