Clash over Ukrainian scrap export policy

Kiev's economic development and trade ministry has approved the export of 1.1 Mt of ferrous scrap thisyear, and provoked widely differing comments from industry players.The ministry expects 4.6 Mt of steel scrap to be collected in 2016 (up from 4.28 Mt last year), with domesticdemand to be 3.5 Mt (3.07 Mt). That gives a balance of 1.1 Mt (1.21 Mt) available for export, the Interfaxnews agency reported.
