Global light vehicle production grew steadily in March, boosted by rapid growth in several large Asianproducers, including China. The strength of Chinese autos production is the key factor in ourexpectations for faster growth this year, compared to last.Global light vehicle production increased by 2.5% y/y,according to LMC Automotive data and CRUestimates. Driving the growth was a 10.2% expansionin China, the largest producer of light vehicles. Growthin much of the rest of Asia was equally impressivethough, as India managed a rapid expansion of 20.0%and Japanese light vehicle production rebounded,after several months of decline, to grow by 11.5%.Korea, by comparison, registered an 11.1% drop inautos production.
