Background. Cardiac tamponade is an emergency condition that requires early recognition and prompt pericardial decompression. Little has been reported on cardiac tamponade in liver retransplantation (reLT), but most cases are fatal. We managed a case of reLT complicated by accidental cardiac tamponade.
