Vale, the major mining company of Brazil, has carried out the project to extend the Ponta da Madeira Port Terminal (TPPM). Besides handling more iron ore, the port will become an important transport hub for soy and corn produced in the Northeast , North and Center-West regions, using a new route provided by the North-South Railroad (FNS), operated by Vale and interconnected with the Caraja's Railroad (EFC).
