According to the steel statistics released on the 18th of January by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the quantities of stainless steel products ( hot-rolled products ) produced in Japan for November of 2009 were as per the table attached hereto. Namely, the stainless steel industry of Japan produced 231,574 tons of stainless steel products in November of 2009, having decreased by 13.5% compared with that ( 267,731 tons ) in the previous month of October. The output of stainless steel products in Japan for 2009 touched the bottom in February and, then, continued a steady recovery but this recovery slowed down in November by a considerable reduction in production of nickel-based stainless steel. This output of stainless steel products in November of 2009 had a substantial increase of 29.2% compared to that ( 192,741 tons ) in the same month of 2008 but the exports of stainless steel products from Japan to China, which increased from summer of 2008, suddenly decreased to a large extent in November of 2009, having resulted in a substantial decline in the output .
