Demand For Special Steels In Japan In Jul. - Sep. / 10 Increases From That In Apr. - Jun.- Reflecting Favorable Tone On Automobile Industry, Domestic Sales And Exports Expect To Increase

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan released on the 29th of June a forecast of special steel products to be demanded in Japan for July - September quarter of 2010. According to this report, the quantities ( on monthly base ) of special steel products to be demanded in July - September quarter are estimated as <> domestic market : 1,063,000 tons, <> exports : 554,000 tons and <> total : 1,617,000 tons. In comparison with those demanded in the preceding quarter of April - June, <> domestic market : increased by 2.2%, <> exports : increased by 0.6% and <> total : increased by 1.6%. Both of domestic sales and exports are anticipated to increase but the total demand for steel products, including normal steel products, is forecasted to have a decline of 0.6% from that in April - June quarter.
