Demand For Special Steels In Japan For Q2 / 10 Is Forecasted To Decrease From That In Q1 / 10- Automobile Industry Will Maintain Firm Tone But Both Of Domestic Consumption And Exports Decrease

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry released on the 29th of March a forecast of the demand for special steels in Japan for the second quarter ( April - June ) of 2010. According to this report, the monthly quantities of special steels to be demanded in Japan for the quarter are forecasted to be <> domestic market : 966,000 tons, <> exports : 517,000 tons and <> total : 1,483,000 tons. In comparison with those estimated for the preceding quarter of January - March of 2010, <> domestic market : to decrease by 6.6%, <> exports : to decrease by 3.6% and <> total : to decrease by 5.6%. Both of domestic consumption and exports are anticipated to decrease but this aspect is not thought to slow down or to touch the bottom and analyzed to have a decline from the sudden and sharp recovery in the preceding quarter.
