On 26th May Queensland Coal Industry Rail Group (QCIRG) composed of Australian coal companies conveyed its intention to buy out for Australian Dollars 4,850 million coal transportation business of QR Central Queensland Coal Track Network of the state owned railway company QR to the State of Queensland. In QCIRG, 13 coal companies deploying coal operations in Queensland are participating including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Xstrata, Anglo American, Peabody Energy and so forth. For reference export share of coal from Queensland by the 13 coal producers accounts for 98 percent of the total exports.
