The actual quantities of main ferro-alloys supplied and consumed in Japan for the fourth quarter ( October - December ) of 2008 were as per the tables (1) and (2) attached hereto. Namely, the steel industry of Japan produced 26.40 million tons of crude steel in October - December quarter of 2008, which had a considerable decrease of 14.5 percent compared with that ( 30.877 million tons ) in the same quarter of 2007, and the quantities of main ferro-alloys produced and consumed in Japan for the fourth quarter of 2008 had a decline from those for the same quarter of 2007.
