Effective 1st July, the first day of the new fiscal year (2008/09 : July, 2008-June, 2009), the Queensland State Government revises royalty rate to be imposed on coal producers. That is to raise the royalty rate to 10 percent from 7 percent only to coal with sale price exceeding Australian Dollars 100 and that on coal with sale price below 100 Australia dollars the traditional rate of 7 percent remains unchanged.
