In the past 15 years there has been a 4% increase in the number of patients taking ten or more medicines. On 20 April 2015, a joint conference between the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, discussed the issues around the "necessary evil" of polypharmacy and how best to tackle it.
