EMA FAST TRACKS APPROVAL OF THYROID CANCER DRUG

The European Medicines Agency is recommending that Lenvima (lenvatinib) be available in Europe for the treatment of thyroid cancer, following a fast-track assessment. The Committee on Medicinal products for Human Use proposes the use of lenvatinib for patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma whose cancer has progressed despite receiving radioactive iodine treatment.
