Newer pazopanib better tolerated than sunitinib

摘要

PAZOPANIB has similar efficacy to sunitinib as first-line therapy for advanced renal cell cancer while being better tolerated, according to a head-to-head comparison of the two tyrosine kinase inhibitors reported in The New England Journal of Medicine (2013;369:722). Pazopanib — the newer drug — was non-inferior to sunitinib in progression-free survival (the primary endpoint), and overall survival was similar with the two drugs.
