THERE have been many attempts to produce a visual representation of the new English NHS. The Department of Health had a go with its "Health and care system: April 2013" (see right). Many members have commented on the absence o pharmacists. This is disappointing; but I would argue that we are everywhere, impacting on or being impacted on by all of the named providers and organisations. We are there whenever a medicine is used within the NHS. Our mantra here is that pharmacists are the experts in medicines and are best placed to ensure that patients and the NHS gain the best outcomes for its ￡12bn annual investment in medicines.
