Half of adults with diabetes do not receive proper checks

HALF of adults with diabetes in England did not receive their nine, nationally recommended health checks in 2009-10, according to an analysis from the National Audit Office. Less than 20 per cent had their blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol levels screened regularly — checks that can cut the risk of disease complications — the audit reveals.
