Benefits of being a specialist pharmacist

AT SCHOOL I was fascinated by how drugs affect the body, particularly the brain. Undergraduate pharmacy studies served to increase my interest in neurology. It amazes me how complex a structure the brain is and how little we understand the various pathways involved. In the 21st century, I still think we are only scratching the surface.After completing undergraduate training in Leicester, my preregistration year at Boots The Chemists in Manchester, and with a mounting interest in neurology, I embarked on a neuropharmacology PhD at Bradford University. This allowed me to combine my passion for science research with teaching. I was initially involved in teaching undergraduate pharmacy students.
