EST 2002, after I had worked for 18 years as a pharmacist in various roles in Scotland, my wife and I decided on a change in lifestyle. Many hours of discussion followed before I noticed an advertisement in the PJ seeking pharmacists to work in Canada. My adventure began on a snowy day in Glasgow in January 2003 when I met two representatives from the Rexall family of pharmacies, one of the largest pharmacy operators in Canada. At this point litde did I realise that getting to Canada would take nearly two years as I studied and sat the necessary examinations (see Panel).
