Under the Department of Health's guidance "Best practice for ensuring the efficient supply and distribution of medicines to patients" (PJ, 12 February 2011, pl54), not only does it state that pharmacies should receive medicines within 24 hours of ordering them, but also that routine checking of proof of prescription is rarely acceptable.
