Golden opportunity for pharmacists in new NHS

Pharmacists have been given a golden opportunity to play a key role in the Government's reformed NHS provided they develop the leadership skills to earn their seat at the table, according to Ash Soni, the pharmacist member of the NHS Future Forum. The forum put its recommendations to the Government this week following the listening exercise on NHS reforms. It stepped back from recommending the professions it wanted to see sit on the local commissioning consortia so that the organisations could be developed according to local need, Mr Soni told The Journal.
