Paracetamol use linked with atopy in adolescents

Paracetamol use in adolescents is associated with a dose-dependent increased risk of asthma, eczema and rhinoconjunctivitis symptoms, a global study published online in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (13 August 2010) suggests.The paper focused on use of paracetamol by 13- to 14-year-old children. Earlier papers have reported the findings in infancy and childhood (PJ, 20 September 2008, p352).
