Having been exhorted to vote, I have voted in favour of student membership. In the late 1950s, I was . registered as a student by the Pharmaceutical Society. This ensured that I could opt for a two-year apprenticeship before going to college for two years or a one-year apprenticeship after passing the Society's qualifying examination. Such registration was a necessary part of the Society's function as a regulator.
