The tide of his letter (PJ, 28 November 2009,p591) suggests.that Tariq Atchia thinks we need people of strong conviction to lead the profession. He is, of course, right, but the example he gives is of someone resigning on a matter of principle. That is usually an action of last resort. I was suggesting (PJ, 14 November 2009, p532) that we need people who have the skills to do business with the NHS and Government. By that I mean effective business on behalf of pharmacy.
