Help the public and the planet by engaging in sustainable development

摘要

At first glance, sustainable development might not seem directly linked with health improvement. Closer examination, however, reveals the issues to be intertwined and they have never been higher on the list of Government priorities. Ever rising levels of obesity and the challenges of climate change have been described as two of the most important public health issues of the 21st century and the risk of not taking some immediate action is likely to widen the gulf between the most privileged sectors of society and the most disadvantaged — both within nations and across the globe.
