Summing up the conference,chairman Mike Holden,chief officer,Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee,said that for independent community pharmacists to deliver on their potential they had to be fit for purpose in professionalism,safety and baseline operation.There had to be a sustainable funding framework.Services needed to be good,with focused outcomes',to make a profit.He predicted that only those who were prepared to change would survive.The Independent Pharmacists Federation needed to be represented on national working groups.
