Money available to improve access for disabled

Pharmacists and other non-medical primary care contractors within the catchment area of City and Hackney Teaching Primary Care Trust are being invited to bid for grants to improve the accessibility of their premises to disabled people.The trust audited all its pharmacies,dental surgeries and opticians for compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act during the 2007-08 financial year.Consequently,it has made available"a pot of money"to help pharmacists,dentists and optometrists to upgrade their premises,provided the improvements increase access for disabled people.
