UK regulators of health professionals have told the European Commission that regulators across Europe should be required to exchange disciplinary and registration information they hold on their registrants and to act on any adverse information.Responding to a commission consultation on how to guarantee uniform access to health care across EU borders(PJ,23 September 2006,p359),the Alliance of UK Health Regulators on Europe(AURE)said this week:"Placing a new legal duty on regulators across the EU to exchange registration and disciplinary information,and to act on it,would provide the tools to enable free movement while at the same time ensuring the safety of patients and the public."
