Tobacco control in Ukraine and Russia

Since the 1990s, eastern European countries have been targeted by large international tobacco companies, which brought both their products and aggressive marketing campaigns, particularly targeting women. Since then the rates of smoking have been increasing.Foryears, eastern European countries have shown low commitment to tobacco control policies; however, recently, there has been a growing concern from the public, nongovernmental organisations, and activists.
