"I've just turned 50, and I'm frightened." The taxi ride to my destination only lasted 10 minutes, but it was long enough to understand why the US approach to organising health care should not have been imported into England. Mr Aziz came to the USA as a 19-year-old from his native Bangladesh more than 30 years ago. He studied hard, acquired a business degree, and spent the next 10 years in the casino business. He did well, was regularly promoted, and he had health insurance. He proposed to his wife just 12 minutes after meeting her. Their daughter is now 18 years old, and has won a full scholarship to pay for her college fees. He is very proud.
