Eric Laroche: expert on health needs in humanitarian crises.

Since February, 2008, Eric Laroche has been Assistant Director-General for WHO's Health Action in Crises, bringing his wide experience of international health and humanitarian action to such places as the drought-hit Horn of Africa and earthquake-affected China. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eastern Chad, Darfur, Afghanistan, Iraq, Burma, Zimbabwe, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories are the current hot spots in which his department maintains a critical interest.
