NPI finds growing use in 300-series stainless

In contrast, China's ferronickel and nickel pig iron producers remain confident that 2010 will become another year of impressive growth, provided that the nickel price remains above 15,000 dollars/t. Although in previous editions of the Nickel Chrome Molybdenum Monitor we made a clear distinction between ferronickel and Chinese nickel pig iron (NPI), based on the product's level of impurities and nickel content, recent meetings with producers active in the People's Republic indicate that this division has become much more blurred in recent years due to technical developments.
